Grupo Fantasma

One of the definitions of a phantasm is "imaginative conception," and it's this term that best describes the band. Their creative conception successfully blends influences and imaginations into a cohesive yet rump-rotating whole; one which consists of corrido lyrics, no nonsense cumbia de la frontera, aggressive Fania-esque salsa, Afro-funk that would make Earth, Wind & Fire proud, and the modern sensibility of Jamaica's dancehall sound. Throw into the mix a semitic New York transplant, a master percussionist from Nicaragua, and half the band's border upbringing. Grupo Fantasma's style of music is like a good knife; sharp and dirty!
