Kings of Happy Hour

How does one describe the music of The Kings of Happy Hour? Hip Hop Funk n B? Rhythm & Hip Hop? Pschedelicafunkin' Hip Hop? The bands influences are as diverse as not only the musicians, but the city which has reared them since childhood- the rhythm & blues of Ray Charles's "Hallelujah I Love Her So;" the groove of James Booker; the syncopated rhythms or The Meters; and the stylized hip hop of Kool Keith. It's a musical gumbo; a combination of influences from their previous bands, covering everything from funk, drum n bass, acid jazz, rock, punk, groove, R& B, and hip hop (Even a little Cajun Two-Step). The results speak for themselves.
